Time Tested Beauty Tips ~ Sam Levenson~

For attractive lips,
Speak words of kindness.

For lovely eyes,
seek out the good in people.

For a slim figure,
Share your food with the hungry.

For beautiful hair,
Let a child run his or her fingers through it once a day.

For poise,
Walk with the knowledge you'll never walk alone.

People, even more than things, have to be restored,
renewed, revived, reclaimed and redeemed…
Never throw out anybody.

Remember, if you ever need a helping hand…
You'll find one at the end of your arm.

As you grow you will discover that you have two hands…
One for helping yourself…and
The second for helping others.

"Do It Anyway"

People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered;

Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind,

people may accuse you of selfish ulterior motives;

Be kind anyway.

If you are successful,

you will win some false friends and some true enemies;

Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank,

people may cheat you;

Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building,

someone could destroy overnight.

Build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness,

they may be jealous;

Be happy anyway.

The good you do today,

people will often forget tomorrow;

Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have,

and it may never be enough;

Give the best you've got anyway.

You see, in the final analysis

it is between you and God;

it was never between you and them anyway.

This poem is engraved on the wall of Mother Teresa's home for children in Calcutta.

Flipping Your Negative Thoughts

And, so, what does someone do to alleviate his or her negative thoughts? The answer is quite simple but not necessarily easy. You learn to focus on something that is opposite to your negative thought. If you are thinking “Hate” in your thoughts, then consciously focus your thoughts on the opposite…focus on “Love.” It is impossible to Love and Hate at the same time. You can choose to practice this philosophy and when you do, you will become a Master at “Flipping Your Thoughts”.

Don’t dwell on your negative thoughts and feelings, but, instead, divert the negative thought to a positive as quickly as you notice your thought. Practically and realistically, it’s all just a matter of refocusing and changing your perception of whatever it is. The more you do it the easier it becomes. We all know that practice makes perfect and we all know it’s true. None of us walked on our first try!!

The objective is to become someone who has self-confidence and determination and is a positive spirit. When you are practicing positive thoughts and the purging of negative thoughts the evidence becomes more obvious on a daily basis. Having the drive to focus and be consistent creates a sense of fulfillment. Your perception is growing ever positive and you are happier and it shows. That’s just what happens.

As you practice the art of “Flipping It”, the positive practice becomes part of your lifestyle and you will begin to experience changes in your life. You will notice that your life reflects your actions as working for your good and for the good of those around you. It is very subtle and before you know it, many things just are not an issue any more. By becoming aware and changing your perception and practicing non-negativity, you will become acutely aware of how others feel, how others benefit from what you are doing, and how you benefit. That will be the moment you recognize how powerful the change really is.

The payoff in the end is this. Once you learn how to control what you are thinking, you are able to enhance the experience by not only eliminating the negative thoughts, but also, you have the ability to replace them with the thoughts and dreams of your heart’s desire. Remember, we are what we think we are. Human beings are thinking beings…that’s what we do. Practice this aspect and then help someone else “Flip It.”

“It’s All Good” and “No Bad Days” will soon become part of your conversation. May you experience Inspiration, Happiness and Peace of Mind, which ultimately leads to Happy, Positive, Dreams Come True Experiences in Your Elevated Life.

Pure and Uncomplicated Thoughts

Last summer my Goddaughter and her husband and two young sons came to our beach town for their vacation. Their little boys were four and six years old then. While they were here, there began to be some conversation regarding the possibility of a move for them as a family to the beach. It was so much fun to listen to the adults talk about their feelings about the beach and the ocean and the life style of those who inhabit our little beach town. My Goddaughter was so touched by seeing a mom and her kids arrive at the grocery store on bikes…all of them. She thought it was just so cool that after shopping, everything was placed in the bike-baskets and off they went. She, at that moment, decided that she and her boys could do that too. There was a certain excitement in her voice…that of recognizing the presence of a true possibility.

During their time here, one of the boys, JD, said, “Mom, are we living in California now?” She answered by saying, “No we don’t live here. We are just here on our vacation, honey”. JD responded by asking, “Well, are we in California?” “Yes, we are” she answered. His next question was, “Are we living?” She laughed and answered, “Yes”. His understanding was clear…he was indeed “living in California” regardless of what the grown-ups were saying.

What I love most about this story is the pure thought process that children use. They just take what’s before them and come to the most obvious conclusion, which more times than not, are truths…children get it!!! It all seemed quite simple to him…I’m in California and I’m living! Well, out of the mouths of babes often come the uncomplicated truths that fill our world. Maybe the adults of the world would be wiser and happier if we would process our information in the same way? Just because we have the ability to think endlessly about something and rationalize beyond any real need, doesn’t mean that we should!!

They had a wonderful time “living in California”. As a matter of fact, their time was so wonderful that they made arrangements to sell their house and relocate to the beach. This is a perfect example of pure potentiality. Where there is a desire and a belief, all things are possible. Recently, JD was reported to have said, “Mom, this place just makes my Soul feel good.” Thank you for the wisdom, JD…welcome to the beach!!

The Strength of a Man

Today I am celebrating my wedding anniversary...the Love that I have in my Heart for my husband goes far beyond any words that I might use. The Beloved brought us together in my front yard one day and sprinkled this amazing "Love Energy" in the air and all of the sudden I was crying...I told my husband that I had no idea what had just happened as I was very happy and didn't understand why I was crying all of the sudden...he just smiled that beautiful, gorgeous smile of his and said "no worries"...you see, he knew exactly what had happened. We have continued to be blessed and we are living our dreams in the arms of each other...this beautiful poem by by Jacqueline M. Griffiths is the perfect poem to present  in Honor of my Husband...he's all this and a bag of chips...Happy Anniversary...

The strength of a man isn't seen in the width of his shoulders.
It's seen in the width of his arms that circle you..

The strength of a man isn't in the deep tone of his voice.
It's in the gentle words he whispers...

The strength of a man isn't how many buddies he has.
It's how good a buddy he is with his kids...

The strength of a man isn't in how respected he is at work.
It's in how respected he is at home...

The strength of a man isn't in how hard he hits.
It's in how tender he touches...

The strength of a man isn't in the hair on his chest.
It's in his Heart, that lies within his chest...

The strength of a man isn't how many women he's loved.
It's in can he be true to one woman...

The strength of a man isn't in the weight he can lift.
It's in the burdens he can carry...

Thank you My Loving Husband for all of the Happiness and Unconditional Love that you give...I will love you always...Namaste'

The Breath of Life

Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

The simple act of breathing is the most primal, natural, and universal human experience. Focused breathing is one of the most rewarding and enlightening personal practices for those seeking mindfulness and peace and understanding in and of life. Awareness and perception is everything. Breathing development is of the utmost importance and it is often an indispensable aid to superior health, peak performance, and life extension. Is the way you breathe making you sick, stealing your energy, hampering your productivity or shortening your life? Findings resulting from a 5,200-person clinical study group observed over a 30-year span showed that pulmonary function measurement is an indicator of general health and vigor and literally the primary measure of potential life span. The first step in healthy breathing is to become consciously aware of how we actually breathe. In addition, the world's great spiritual traditions teach us that our breath not only brings needed oxygen and other substances to the physical body, but it can also bring the finer energies that are needed to help nourish our higher selves. Regardless of what we may believe about our soul and spirit, The Breath, and how we breathe, is intimately connected with all aspects of our experience of life.  Most people have unhealthy breathing habits, which include holding their breath or breathing high in the chest or in a shallow, irregular manner. Certain "typical" breathing patterns actually trigger physiological and psychological stress and anxiety reactions. Heart attacks, cancer, strokes, pneumonia, asthma, speech problems, and almost every disease known to mankind is worsened or improved by how well we breathe. People who breathe optimally rarely or never get sick.  A healthy and knowledgeable mind has an easy Breath and The Breath is Life…the act of Breathing is Living…it is our Being. "The Heart of the Matter" encourages everyone to learn more about focused healthy breathing and to incorporate your knowledge into your lifestyle for "YourElevatedLife" this year.

Heart breathing...We know that our breathing is the inhaling and exhaling of air. The organs that serve for this are the lungs that lie round the heart, so that the air passing through them thereby envelops the heart. Thus breathing is a natural way to the heart. And so, having collected your mind within you, lead it into the channel of breathing through which air reaches the heart and, together with this inhaled air, allow your mind to descend into the heart and to remain there. ~Nicephorus the Solitary~

Breath Is a Bridge..."Breath is the bridge which connects life to consciousness, which unites your body to our thoughts." ~Thich Nhat Hanh~

I Am ALIVE..."If you woke up breathing, congratulations! You have another chance." ~Andrea Boydston~

The Breath of Love..."There is one way of breathing that is shameful and constricted. Then, there’s another way: a breath of love that takes you all the way to infinity." ~Rumi

Stand Still and Breathe..."Inhale, and God approaches you. Hold the inhalation, and God remains with you. Exhale, and you approach God. Hold the exhalation, and surrender to God." ~Krishnamacharya~

Breathing Small..."Listen, are you breathing just a little and calling it a life?" ~Mary Oliver~

Breathe Past Fear..."Fear is excitement without the breath." ~Fritz Perls, M.D.~

The Breaths of a Lifetime..."A lifetime is not what is between the moments of birth and death. A lifetime is one moment between my two little breaths...The Present, The Here, the Now...That's all the life I get. I live each moment in Full...In Kindness...In Peace...Without Regret." ~Chade Meng~

Learn to Exhale..."Learn how to exhale, the inhale will take care of itself" ~Carla Melucci Ardito~

The Sweetest Things..."The best things in life are nearest: Breath in your nostrils, light in your eyes, flowers at your feet, duties at your hand, the path of right just before you. Then do not grasp at the stars, but do life's plain, common work as it comes, certain that daily duties and daily bread are the sweetest things in life." ~Robert Louis Stevenson

Call To Power

Limitations are an illusion

Stifling ambitions and dreams

We sleep in ignorance

Of our role as Creators

Accepting the role of pawns

On life’s chess board

Our Greatness

Kept secret from the masses

Lest we decide

To throw off the harness

Of helplessness

And embrace

Power

Beyond

Our

Wildest

Imagination

Now

Is the time to Wake up

   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This poem by Alison Stormwolf has a timely message for the New Year.  Is this the year that the masses will seek and witness the unveiling of the pure potentiality available to all of humanity by the Grace of the Beloved?  Darwin P. Kingsley says this:  "You have powers you never dreamed of.  You can do things you never thought you could do.  There are no limitations to what you can do except the limitations of your own mind."  Accepting responsibility for Creating our daily experiences through our thought is the beginning of Awareness and Truth.  Are you ready to become "Limitless" and "Elevate" into a higher awareness of consciousness in order to experience your ambitions and dreams...those things never thought to be possible?  Now is the time...
May We Begin Each and Every Day with Gratitude and Love
There is no greater power in the Universe than Gratitude. Being sincerely thankful is the demonstration of Universal Love. There is nothing that you cannot be, do or have once you learn to be Grateful for everything in your life...Being grateful means maintaining the awareness that God is entirely present in every moment of your life and that you don't have to go anywhere to experience the glory of God's presence. When you are in that type of awareness and cooperation, all things flow to you, and you experience a sense of "upliftment" and Peace. The joy of it is that you can turn to the positive direction at any moment and the joy will be entirely present for you...An attitude of Gratitude is another key to being in harmony with the formlessness of infinite supply. When you can honestly and truly thank God for what you have, for all your experiences, and all the people in your life, and for all your expressions, the sense of Gratitude is present and calm Loving-Kindness becomes part of you.~John Roger~
